The NIEI resources have been a huge help to our program. When teachers see what resources are available to them, they want to try the newspaper in the classroom. NIEI certainly has made a difference.

As a participant in the NIE Institute, I can say I find the services useful for my program. I haven't used them all but it is relatively inexpensive for what you receive. I feel as though I've saved money in just one year. The curricula are educationally sound and Doug understands the business side of NIE too and the material reflects that.

Doug, I think your ideas are fabulous. As someone who just completed 20 years in NIE, I appreciate your efforts to tie together so many loose ends for the benefit of all. For my first few years in NIE, I had no one to turn to except a handful of colleagues. Your disk saved me a year's worth of work!

If, for no other reason, you get the "Reading First" guide, the membership is worth it. We've also had very positive response, and additional newspaper orders, as a result of having the Century of Flight supplementary materials and the newspaper "cards". Curriculum materials provided are sound and very helpful to have on hand for "spur of the moment" needs as well as staples.

I'm currently working to get our paperwork ok'd for grants. Our local community foundation has reorganized and I needed a different 501C3 pass through account to have funds allocated to us relinquished. I don't anticipate any problems, given the materials provided.

Doug Alexander's work is truly appreciated by me and mine!

This piece (Thoughtful Literacy) is unbelievable! I wouldn't know where to start giving you feedback except that Darla Shaw is the best thing to happen to NIE ever! Thanks for making this good stuff happen. My teachers really loved "Reading First."

Doug, What an incredible educational guide [Women's History Month Guide]! I'm going to present it to our Michigan Women's Historical Center & Hall of Fame and ask them to make a contribution to NIE! Thank You!
