Knight Ridder Productions Products Now Licensed to the NIE Institute
The Newspaper in Education Institute (NIEI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit NIE educational organization that provides NIE program
subscribers with over 200 free quality FREE instructional resources on a web page customized for your NIE program. The page has it's own unique web address for all your NIE teachers to access the resources. There are also web pages for streaming video and audio teacher training modules and for serial stories & student supplements.
Over 80 NIE departmental resources are also provided including fundraising & grant writing support, NIE research, and practical NIE advice.
The mission of the Institute, working through subscribing newspapers, is to help teachers improve students’ standardized test scores and critical thinking skills
through the use of quality NIE curriculum resources and student supplements that support
educational use of their local newspaper.
Our
character and civic education resources encourage students to make good life choices and become responsible citizens in their communities.
We also provide fundraising support, direct
grants, grant
processing services, the new online affidavit program, and other useful NIE resources.

All curriculum, student supplements and NIE department resources are provided free of charge to NIE Institute subscribers and may be downloaded from the various resource pages.
Teachers of subscribing newspapers may access
all instructional
resources FREE OF CHARGE from the instructional resources web page customized for your NIE program.
Subscribers may also place the teacher web page with all instructional resource on their own password-protected NIE page. HTML files can be downloaded from the Institute's FTP server for you to customize for your NIE program.
The Institute also provides subscribers
two low cost services:

from $0.95 each and Grant Processing using our 501(C)(3) non-profit status (4%-6% fee).
